The Norwegian tradition of playing in marching bands is well-spread all over the nation. But marching bands are rarely a platform for integrating people of foreign backgrounds to Norwegian communities. Hostess Sigrid Bonde Tøsvik sets out to change this and forms a brand-new marching band consisting of ten Norwegian women of different backgrounds. None of them have played an instrument before joining Korps United. In only a few months’ time, they will join the palace marching parade on Norway’s Constitution Day on May 17.
